I've always enjoyed being a book author - here I am in my 'author's specs'! It's lovely to have a nice juicy project to get my teeth into. And it's also satisfying to produce work that can be really helpful to readers, and that they might keep and refer to for rather longer than a magazine feature.

Ideas for books are often sparked by events in my own life, which is why I've produced a number on relationships and parenting over the years.

Baby Shock! Your Relationship Survival Guide

Written for the Relate series of guides, I hatched the idea for this one when my kids were small, but didn't find time to start writing until the younger one went to school. Straight from the heart!

Before You Say I Do

Another title for Relate, aimed at couples who are considering marriage. I reckon we should include managing relationships on the school curriculum, and this book explores some of the issues that are especially important.

Second Time Around: How divorce affects future relationships

My very first book, now out of print, but still available second-hand through amazon.

The Which? Guide to Getting Married

This book, written for the Consumers' Association and now in its third edition, is a very practical guide on how to plan a wedding.

Every book author deserves some fun now and then - and I get mine from writing about cats. I love their beauty, their funny little ways, and their cuddly furriness, although I'm not quite so keen when my own cats decide to take a snooze on my desk...
